Support and maintain the solution

Once a Solution has been moved to the production environment you can put support and maintenance for the solution in place. This can consist of administrative duties such as maintaining SharePoint Groups, Participants, and/or Contributors for the Solution. It may also include updating any data connections in use.

If any issues arise while the Solution is in production, you should first try and replicate the issue in a development environment. Once the issue is replicated and a fix has been found, the fix should be tested prior to applying the fix to production.
