BAPI-based solutions

In Journal Entry Management (JEM), you can customize a template from the default BAPI by clicking the Customize button. The default BAPI covers document post and is available in single post or multiple-company post modes. You can choose either cell-based or column-based mapping.

Add fields

You can include headers and line items that were not included when the BAPI script template was created. Click the View tab, click Expert View, and check the Disabled Fields box. To add a field, select it in the Mapper and then check the box in the Enable column.

By default, the field return-message v2 is included among the journal line items to display the document number after post. When the sheet is posted, the field return-message v2 also returns the document number, company code and fiscal year to the post results cell and provides the document number link.

Debit and credit

When adding data to a JEM sheet, the amount must be entered as a plus or a minus because no debit or credit indicators are available. For example, a debit of $50 would be entered as "-50".

User name

JEM automatically uses the ID of the person who is logged on to the SAP system. The User name field is disabled and cannot be mapped. After you run the BAPI, you can verify the user name in the SAP GUI.

If the solution is scheduled, Studio uploads the user name based on the auto logon credential of the person who scheduled the run.

Actions

Only Post is available for the current implementation of BAPI in Journal Entry Management. Park and Save as Completed are not available.

Only validation is supported. JEM does not support simulation for BAPI-based scripts, and the Allow Simulate check box is not available.

Attach documents

After the document number is returned, you can attach documents the same way that you attach documents in other JEM solutions.
