Working with Foundation

Concurrent logons

You can log on to two computers at the same time. If you log on to a third computer, Foundation notifies you that only two logons are allowed, and the third session is disconnected.

Synchronize logs to Foundation

If you previously used a stand-alone version of Transaction or Query and now work with Foundation, you can send existing logs to your Foundation site so that user data for reporting is available in Foundation.

  1. On the Log Viewer page, click Sync to Foundation.
  2. Existing logs are sent to the Foundation site. If for some reason, some of the logs are not synchronized, you are notified and can re-synchronize the logs.
  3. When all the logs are successfully synchronized, the Sync to Foundation button will no longer be available.

Sign in with a different user name

At any time, whether you are starting a session or are in the middle of a session, you can sign in as a different user. With the change user feature, you can use the same credential to sign in to different domains.

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. Click Account, and then click Switch Account.
  3. Type the user name and password, and then click OK.

Sign in to a different site

In Studio v11.1 with Foundation 11, you can switch between sites—for example, between a non-production site and a production site, or between a development site, a staging site, and a production site.

  1. Click the File tab, and then click Account.
  2. Click Select Different Site.
  3. Choose the site that you want, and then click OK.

Note: The list of sites is configured on the Foundation site.

Sign out

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. Click Account, and then click Sign Out.

View the user profile

You can view your user profile at any time to see what roles and server policies apply to you.

  • In Studio: Click Foundation User Profile.
  • In Excel: Click User Profile.
