Installing Winshuttle Designer

Prior to installation, review minimum system requirements and plan appropriately for your environment.

Installing Designer 10.6.1 and later

Beginning with Designer version 10.6.1 and onwards , the installer is only specific to the version of InfoPath that you are using and not the version of Office or the Operating System.

  1. Right-click Winshuttle Designer Installer.exe, and select Run as Administrator to run the Winshuttle Designer Installation Wizard.
  2. Click Next to begin installation.
  3. Select "I accept the license agreement…" and then click Next.
  4. Type in your name and organization. Select "Anyone…" or "Only me" (whichever is appropriate), and then click Next.
  5. Click Change… IF you wish to change the folder where Winshuttle Designer will be installed, and then click Next.
  6. Click Next to begin installation. Click Back to go back and change options.
  7. Click Finish to complete the installation.

Note: Make sure you run the Designer installer specific to the version of Microsoft Office installed on the PC. Installers are specific to the version of Microsoft Office, not the installed operating system. For example, if the operating system is 64-bit and the installed version of Office is 32-bit, then use the Office 32-bit installer to install Designer.

Workflow Designer includes the following installers:

  • Office 2007 32-bit
  • Office 2010 32-bit
  • Office 2010 64-bit
  • Office 2013 32-bit
  • Office 2013 64-bit

Installation

  1. Right-click Winshuttle Designer Installer.exe, and select Run as Administrator to run the Winshuttle Designer Installation Wizard.
  2. Click Next to begin installation.
  3. Select "I accept the license agreement…" and then click Next.
  4. Type in your name and organization. Select "Anyone…" or "Only me" (whichever is appropriate), and then click Next.
  5. Click Change… IF you wish to change the folder where Winshuttle Designer will be installed, and then click Next.
  6. Click Next to begin installation. Click Back to go back and change options.
  7. Click Finish to complete the installation.

The Winshuttle Designer shortcut now appears on your Desktop and in your Start menu.

Note: On the first run of Winshuttle Designer, Windows Firewall may block some features of Designer. If this happens, open Windows Firewall and select Allow Access for wfdesigner.exe.

Running Winshuttle Designer (First Run)

To start Designer for the first time, click StartAll Programs, and then click Winshuttle Designer.

The first time that you start Designer you will need to select an Application Mode:

This setting can only be set upon first run. If you need to change it later, see Changing Application Modes.

  • Winshuttle Workflow with SAP extensions: Select this mode if you have a Winshuttle Enterprise license. This license includes Winshuttle Central and Winshuttle Server, and allows you to work with SAP.
  • Winshuttle Workflow: Select this mode to design and publish workflows to SharePoint sites. This license does not allow you to use Winshuttle Central or Winshuttle Server to work with SAP.
