Winshuttle Central Site Menu: Backup and Restore

You can replicate production data by creating a backup. We recommend maintaining a regular backup of production data, and making a backup when migrating data. You can specify whether to update or restore all items or individual items in your CENTRAL site. Backup operations can also be scheduled.

  1. From the Winshuttle CENTRAL Administration page, under Site, select Backup (to create a backup job) or Restore (to restore a backup).

Note: When you restore you have the option to overwrite duplicate items.

  2. Specify the location for the backup.
  3. Specify whether you want all items or individual items backed up.
  4. Schedule the date and time for the backup. Click Create Job.
  5. To complete the restore process, you must do the following:
    • Restart the Windows SharePoint Services Timer.
    • Reset IIS on any web front servers.
    • Reactivate Winshuttle CENTRAL Timer Jobs.

After you click Create Job, you must do the following:

  1. Restart Windows SharePoint Services Timer.
  2. Reset IIS on web front servers.
  3. Reactivate the Winshuttle CENTRAL TIMER JOBS feature.
