Sync Excel Define Names
The Sync Excel Define Names plug-in helps to:
- Update changes of a promoted column on SharePoint in the Excel workflow.
- Enable Excel to SharePoint property promotion. This plug-in helps to update an Excel cell value to the SharePoint column it is linked to, using a Workflow after the AutoRun plug-in is used in the Excel Workflow.
Note:
- The AutoRun plug-in breaks the sync of promoted Excel columns between Excel and SharePoint, and the Sync Excel Define Names plug-in promotes the columns back to SharePoint.
- This plug-in is available in Foundation 12.0 and later.
- The Sync Excel Define Names Plug-in should be used after an activity with the Allow Replacement property set to true.
- The SharePoint column must have the same name as the Define Name column in the Excel.
Prerequisites
To use the plug-in successfully, perform the following prerequisites:
- Add the Sync Excel Define Names plug-in in the workflow Composer solution after an activity and the AutoRun plug-in.
- If you are using an activity after the AutoRun plug-in, it must have the Allow Replacement property set to true for the activity node, only after which you must add the Sync Excel Define Names plug-in.
- Enable the Enable Property Promotion property. On the User Governance site, go to Settings > Preferences. On the Preferences page, click the Foundation tab, select the Enable Property Promotion check box, and click Save Changes.
