The Start node is used as a visual reference in a workflow to indicate where it begins. A Start node is required to initiate a process.

Start node properties

Property	Description
Assignment Completion Link Text	A hypertext link directing the assignee to their task. This usually does not apply to the Start node.
Description	A description of the task/assignment. This usually does not apply to the Start node.
Item Level Permissions	The name of the SharePoint permission set that should be ascribed to the Originator for the SharePoint item against which the workflow will run. The Originator is the person who initiates a workflow. Every workflow must have an Originator Swim Lane.
Item Level Permissions Type	Can be one of the following: None — does nothing with respect to permissions. Add — adds the given permission to the item. Replace— replaces the current permission sets with the given permission set.
Item Link Text	A hypertext link directing the assignee to the form or document pertaining to the task. This usually does not apply to the Start node.
Main Page Link Text	A hypertext link directing the assignee to the Winshuttle Workflow site where the task originated. This usually does not apply to the Start node.
Name	The name of the task/assignment. This usually does not apply to the Start node.
Set Values	Allows you to set a value in a form field or SharePoint list item, after the task has been completed.
Type	Read-only type of the node.
Use Form Queue	The Form Queue function provides immediate feedback to the form user when a form is submitted. The submitted form is placed in a queue with all other form submissions and processed via the SVService application running in the background. Setting UseFormQueue on the Start node applies to starting the process and will be displayed on the Web Part Forms tab.
