3. Configuring User Governance

Completing Foundation 11.x installation

  1. Configuring a new Foundation installation
  2. Creating the Winshuttle form site

Applies to:

After installation you will need to activate and configure your Winshuttle Foundation 11 User Governance installation.

  1. Configure the Licensing Service
  2. Activate Winshuttle Foundation
  3. Assign the Foundation License
  4. Complete administrative setup

Note:

  • All Foundation components should be installed prior to running Foundation Setup.
  • The Foundation Setup must be run as a Winshuttle Administrator that was specified at the end of the License Management System installation.
  • The Winshuttle Administrator must also be a SharePoint Site Collection Administrator.

1. Configure the Licensing Service

On the Welcome screen, under Information Needed screen:

  1. Next to Licensing URL, type the License Management System URL.
  2. Click Test Connection to verify connectivity.
  3. Click Save, and then click Next.

2. Activate Winshuttle Foundation User Governance

If the SharePoint server and License Management Server are connected to the Internet, then use Online Activation; otherwise use the offline activation method.

Online Activation

  1. Next to Activation Code, enter or paste your Winshuttle Foundation User Governance activation code.
  2. From the Administrator menu, select an Administrator account.
  3. Click Activate.

Offline Activation

If the installation being activated is offline, use the following activation instructions.

Note: The following process must be completed on a PC that is connected to the Internet.

  1. Under Licensing Info, next to Activation Code, enter your Activation code.
  2. Select "I need to get my license file"
  3. Click Activate.
  4. Copy the URL displayed above the Activate button, paste it into a browser, and then open the page.
  5. Copy the encrypted activation code into the field on the Connect Licensing page.
  6. Click Download License File.
  7. Return to the Activation page. Under License File Options, select I have My license file.
  8. Click Choose File, and then to the .LIC file downloaded in Step 3.
  9. Click Activate.

3. Assign the License

On the Foundation License Assignment screen:

  1. License ID: Select a License ID from the drop menu.
  2. Instance Name: Type a name for the instance, such as Dev, Development, Production, etc.
  3. User Governance Site URLs: Type the URL for one or more Foundation User Governance sites. If you are entering more than one site, separate the entries by a comma.
  4. Click Save, and then click Next.

4. Complete administrative setup

On the Administration screen:

  1. Winshuttle Administrator: Type the account name (domain/username) for the Winshuttle Administrator (i.e. the account used to manage the Winshuttle Foundation User Governance site).
  2. Click Save.
  3. Click Setup Foundation to complete setup.

If you need to change settings later, you can change them from Settings, under Foundation Setup.
