Installing Winshuttle Workflow 10.8 (new installation)

  1. Before installing:
    • Make sure SharePoint Administration Services and Timer Services are running on all Web Front ends.
    • Restart SharePoint Timer Services on all front-ends
    • Perform an IISRESET on all front-ends
    • Make sure you have met all system and account requirements.
    • Make sure the Winshuttle Workflow Admin Account has been added to the required groups in all Web Front Ends.
  2. Right-click the Winshuttle Workflow Setup program, and then click Run as Administrator.
  3. On the Welcome screen, click Next.
  4. After the System Check completes, click Next.

    Note: If your system fails a system check, see What to do if the System Check fails for some common causes and solutions.

  5. Accept the licensing agreement (EULA), and then click Next.
  6. Enter the Winshuttle Workflow Administrator Account credentials (Username, Password, and Domain), and then click Next.

    Note: The credentials entered on this screen are used by Winshuttle Workflow as an ‘impersonation’ account. The user specified on this screen must exist in the SharePoint Farm as: Local Machine Administrator, WSS_WPG, and WSS_ADMIN_WPG.

  7. On the Winshuttle Workflow Settings screen, do the following:
    • (Optional) Click […] to change the target installation folder.
    • In the Return Email field, type an email address. (This is the email address that will appear in the 'from' field of emails sent by the Workflow engine.)
    • Select/de-select Install Winshuttle Workflow on standard SharePoint menu.
    • Click Next
  8. On the Winshuttle Workflow Database screen, under Database Instance, enter the Database Name.
  9. Under Authentication, select SQL Server or Windows, and then provide the appropriate credentials for the account (Username, Password, Domain) in their respective fields. Click Next.
  10. On the second Winshuttle Workflow Database screen, do the following:
    • Select Trusted or SQL Authentication
    • If SQL Authentication is selected, type the username and password in the provided fields. Note: The minimum rights of the user provided for SQL Authentication are dbcreator and securityadmin.
  11. On the Web Application Deployment screen, under Web Applications, click a checkbox to select the Web application. Or, next to Web Application URL, type the address for the Web Application to add.

    Note: Only a single Web application is allowed to be selected here

  12. Click Next
  13. Wait for installation to complete. On the Installation successfully completed screen, click Next.
  14. After installation has completed:
    • If you are installing a Winshuttle Workflow version Workflow 10.8 Hotfix 2 or earlier: Manually restart the SharePoint Timer Services on all front-ends.
    • Perform an IISRESET on all front-ends.

    This phase of installation is complete. Please continue to Configuring SVService as a scheduled task.
